Workplace Giving and Matching Gifts

Many companies offer workplace giving and matching gift programs to encourage charitable donations and recognize volunteer service. These programs give Scouting families an easy way to increase their Friends of Scouting contributions, often doubling or even tripling the impact. In addition, many employers provide grants to nonprofits in honor of volunteer hours completed by their employees.

The Gulf Coast Council, Scouting America, is frequently an eligible recipient for these programs. Our staff is happy to help answer questions, complete required forms, and verify your support. Please note that corporate contributions benefit Scouting programs across our council and cannot be designated to individual units, specific Scouts, or other groups.

Matching Gifts

Matching gift programs allow companies to match donations made by their employees to qualifying nonprofit organizations. Many employers match contributions ranging from $25 to $10,000 or more, and some even offer triple-match opportunities.

To participate, contact your Human Resources department to obtain the necessary paperwork and submit it along with your contribution to the Gulf Coast Council. We’ll handle the rest.

Volunteer Grant Programs

Volunteer grant programs provide financial donations to nonprofits in recognition of employee volunteer hours.

If you serve as a Scouting volunteer such as a merit badge counselor, unit leader, or committee member, you may qualify. Grant amounts vary widely, often ranging from $25 to $5,000 or more. Contact your Human Resources department for program details.

How to Request a Matching Gift or Volunteer Grant

Submitting a request typically takes just a few minutes and must be initiated by the donor or volunteer. This can be done by completing a paper form provided by your employer or through an electronic submission process.
